Another pleasant winter’s day.
Cold morning but nothing two cups of tea can cure. Plus web surfing in bed for two hours until the sun had done a decent job of earth warming.
Lazy mornings.
Anyway.
Philippians 4 v 8:
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. (NIV)
This is not a carte blanche for indiscriminate cherry picking of values and traits.
(Keep mindful of the witness of Jesus Christ and God’s Commandments.)
But it reminds us to look for that which is good and beautiful in creation. Humans included. The Holy Spirit does quietly work. A dark mind misses a lot of grace,
Anyway. Our church handed out a good prayer guide. I am sure there are better guides (And worse.). But the one you make make work off is the best. The prayer guide is quite old but addresses most issues to quicken spiritual life and communion with God.
The church Bible study is very good. We are studying the book of Acts now. Comprehensive, in detail and incisive. God’s hand in the early church .
This Saturday we will have communion in our house church in Bethulie. As always it promises to be a communal affair. I am looking forward to it.
Regards.
