A Beautiful Day

Monday 25 February 2019.

Trompsburg, Freestate, South Africa.

A lovely day. Blue sky, damp earth and a lush, green garden.

this weekend there was no local Sabbath meeting. The Beamish’s elderly father is very frail and needs constant attention and love. Our prayers go out to uncle Cobus and the whole family.

I took the home Sabbath’s time to catch up on the Bible studies I did not complete. Our current SDA Bible study theme is the book Revelation. It is just an overview accentuating the important themes. The accepted time lines of events are also briefly discussed.

Again it seems that the mark of the Beast’s function as the sole means of buying and selling is skipped over. An omission that seems to recur regularly in the SDA’s handling of the book Revelation.

The Bible studies also alludes to the fact that the SDA church is the Remnant Church. As such it is also God’s chosen vehicle for the end of days. A bit exclusive. There are other Sabbath keeping churches.

Sunday was a leisurely day. My wife has taken ill since Wednesday. Bronchitis and postnasal drip.  She has been quite ill. Tough time. Heaps of tissue paper an cold remedies. No antibiotics since the current illness has a clear 90% of being exclusively a viral infection. Therefore rendering antibiotics redundant. Anyway. we have been praying for her recovery and she is much better now.

Our new SDA pastor has arrived. Pastor Kim Row-Row. His wife is of missionary stock. So that drives the house. He seems affable. he gave us and our house a blessing.  Much appreciated.

He also left a booklet . “Revive us Again.” Written by Mark A. Finley. It is a guide on how to connect with the Trinity via the Holy Spirit, The aim is to transform ourselves and then our communities. I am reading the small book and am enjoying its old truths.

Regards.

Heinrich
